Frequently Asked Questions

Turnaround time is usually within 2-3 business days, but in severe cases, more time may be required, especially during busy periods. Our mission is to fix it right the first time, and no corners are cut throughout the repair process. In the rare event that an issue persists after the repair service has been performed, we'll make sure it is taken care of at no additional cost and in a timely manner. This does not include new issues that occur from something completely unrelated to the previous repair service.

Emergency service is available for $90 and gives you immediate priority.

  • Hardware: There is no base fee to troubleshoot hardware related issues for the first 15 minutes. After 15 minutes is $40.
  • Software: There is no base fee to troubleshoot software related issues.
  • Desktops: The only hardware equipment that you'll need to bring is the tower. We have all the hardware in our shop to perform any repair service required. If your desktop comes with a power cord other than the standard 3-prong, you may need to bring that as well.
  • Laptops: Please bring your laptop along with the AC Power Adapter (Power Cord). Even though a battery can last several hours on a full charge, it is unlikely that there will be enough battery life to make it through the entire repair process. We definitley don't want your laptop shutting down in the middle of the repair process.
  • Software: In the event that we need to perform a "factory system restore" (last measure), we will need any software that you would like us to reinstall. Please Note: Licensed software must have the official license key that came with the product in order for us to install the software for you. If an "Operating System" disk came with your computer at the time of purchase, or you have Recovery Disks, please bring them with you as well. Newer computers over the past few years usually have a "Recovery Partition" on the hard drive and an operating system disk may not be required.

    If a factory restore is needed and your computer requires specific recovery disks, we will notify you first and then order them if you do not have them. The average cost for recovery disks supplied by the manufacturer is usually $30-$50.

  • In-Office Repairs: If you bring your computer into our shop, it is generally more affordable than having us come out to your location. Please review the pricing table to the left to view repair costs.
  • Service Calls: Service calls are scheduled in the mornings, Monday through Thursday, unless emergency service has been requested. The residential rate is $60/hour with a one hour minimum, and then billed every half hour after + mileage if you are located outside of Oscoda County.
  • Remote Support: If you have "High-Speed Internet" (not including ISDN or Satellite), we can usually solve common computer issues directly over the internet. The price starts at $50 for the first hour, and then $30/hour thereafter with a one hour minimum. We have our own personal remote solution that guarentees a secured private connection to your computer, and once the remote support session is completed, there is no software left behind on your computer.

There is always a potential risk in losing data when you're working with technology and the only possible way to better your chances against it is to back your information up on other media besides your computer (External Hard Drive, CD/DVD's, etc). If we are repairing your system and a "factory system restore" is required, we will backup your data (Documents, Pictures, Music, Videos, etc) and restore it. Unfortunatley, software such as Microsoft Office, Video Games, etc, will need to be reinstalled. Please Note: Licensed software must have the official license key that came with the product in order for us to install the software for you.

We are not an Apple certified location. We can help you with common tasks, such as migrating your data or setting up your wireless network, but if you're having severe issues, then we recommend contacting our partners at Gaia Technologies located in Gaylord, MI.
